Paul Street Boys basaed on the novel by Ferenc Molnar 

"The most extraordinary battle ever fought by the bravest army that ever had to be home for dinner". An extraordinary war film.

A Pál utcai fiúk (The Boys of Paul Street) is a 1969 American-Hungarian co-production film that is considered a classic in Hungary and one of the most faithful adaptations of its source novel by Molnar Ferenc who lived the last 40 years of his life in the US.

Erno Nemecsek, the main character,  is the symbol of self-sacrifice and heroic courage of ordinary people taking responsibility for homeland. His mates do not understand him, push him aside, put him to shame and realize his human greatness only after his death.

The book is a required reading in European schools and also in Israel, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, and in Brazil.

Oh, Bloody Life (1984)

Oh, Bloody Life, a Hungarian film that is written about the 1950's, the spread of communism. It reflects on the heavy emotional toll taken by the repressive Stalin regime. Dorotya Udvaros plays a young operetta singer. She is from a working class family but used to be married to a baron. Her wealth is confiscated and she is deported to the country as an enemy of the communism. The operetta singer is forced to live in a village with farmers and work on the farms like other middle class and upper middle class people were.  

The film is a satire but shows exactly how middle and upper class citizens were thrown out of their homes with only a suitcase, boarded on trains that had their windows covered so they wouldn't even know where they were taken. The communist party which did not subscribe to private property immediately moved into the homes and castles of the deportees and considered them as their own.

The Witness (Hungarian: A tanú, also known as Without a Trace), is a 1969 Hungarian political satire comedy film directed by Péter Bacsó, co-written by Bacsó and János Újhegyi, and starring Ferenc Kállai, Lajos Őze, Béla Both, and Lili Monori.

(The Center Square) - Santa Ana is currently voting on a ballot measure on whether or not to allow undocumented immigrants to vote in all municipal elections. 

Last year, California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill banning manual counting of ballots. This year, he signed a bill banning voter ID requirements. Already 16 and 17 year olds, and noncitizens with enrolled students, are able to vote in some school board elections in California.

You need to keep it in mind that our town has less then 15,000 residents and we have very little crime. If you read the Pine Cone, our local publication, we can learn that our police deals mostly with people who turn in lost wallets etc.

Two military veterans are on a mission to humanize immigrants - Another garbage article in the Monterey County Now!

The Monterey County Now is exploiting military veterans to spread their propaganda about illegal migrants.  They use the friendship between two veterans to tell us to “humanize immigration”!

What  does a friendship between two veterans have to do with millions of illegals pouring into our country to take advantage of our residents and our  failed leadership? Do you think that after reading the Monterey County Now "article" we will feel differently about the billions of dollars our administration spent on illegals instead of spending it on veterans who would in many cases end up living in tents on the streets?

A heartwarming story about combat camaraderie has nothing to do with illegal migrant invaders. We Americans don’t get such services like staying at 4-star hotels at government’s expense, getting free healthcare, free schooling, free mobil phones, and such but are instead stuck with the bill.

If the supporters of this article are overflowing with humanitarian compassion, maybe they should direct it more appropriately to the American victims of migrant violence, the American taxpayers, and the American children that will not be born, because their parents cannot afford to give them a good start in life due to being overtaxes, overregulated and abused by corrupt incompetent un-American leadership.

Botanical Garden for Pacific grove

Yesterday on the Farmers Market a resident said that he doesn't like all the new construction around the city because Pacific Grove is loosing its picturesque Victorian town atmosphere.  He was not the first person who said that. 

I thought of it and I have to agree with him. My idea is to have a botanical garden like the one I saw in Mendocino. A botanical garden would match the town's atmosphere, allow students from neighboring schools to volunteer,  and it would bring visitors to the City. 

I would like you to compare the beauty and liveliness of the garden to the unkept dying vegetation at Washington Park (below) and think about which one you would prefer to see.

To the right is a picture from Washington Park with unkept, dying vegetation which presents fire danger to the surrounding homes. 

It puzzles me why people in Pacific Grove prefer to see dead shrubs and trees opposed to beauty and liveliness. 

However, if you think that dead trees are beautiful you may have a distorted picture of life and living things.
